The Hierophant

What was learned before me is still half of what I know.

Transmission - the link between the individual and tradition.

The Hierophant is the inherited structure of meaning: scripture, lineage, discipline, the slow teachings that precede any one life. He is the psyche's need to be initiated, to place itself inside a story larger than its own invention. Properly held, he is the bridge between private experience and collective wisdom.

Enantiodromia

Fullness

The healthy, integrated expression

The True Teacher

Wisdom transmitted with humility. The Hierophant in fullness carries lineage without collapsing into it, initiates others into living tradition, and knows the difference between form and its source.

Active Shadow

Over-expression - Enantiodromia inflates the energy

The Dogmatist

Tradition as control. The letter is defended against the spirit, obedience is demanded in place of understanding, and the teacher becomes a gatekeeper who has confused the map for the territory.

Passive Shadow

Under-expression - the repressed or deflated pole

The Unmoored Iconoclast

Tradition refused entirely. Every inheritance is suspect; every teacher is a threat to autonomy. The result is not freedom but rootlessness - a self endlessly reinventing itself from zero.

Cross-System Resonance

This archetype lives in the Integration & Wholeness and The Teacher clusters. Each cluster gathers figures across traditions that share an underlying resonance - with honesty about where inference begins.

Mirrors to try on, not a diagnosis. See methodology.

Cluster

Moderate evidence

Integration & Wholeness - The Completed Self

Opposites held together. Four systems, four different end-states (Pearson wholeness; Campbell return-with-boon; Riso Level 9; Tarot World). Axis continuous, destinations not identical.

Added Temperance (LITERALLY named for alchemical integration), Emperor (integrated sovereign), Hierophant (integrated tradition-bearer).

Cluster

Supported

The Teacher - Transmission, Doctrine, Inherited Wisdom

The lineage-bearer. Hands forward ritual, doctrine, method. Wisdom as tradition rather than as discovery.

Retained as distinct from Sage-Magician because transmission is a specific function. Overlap named; merge declined with reason.
