Cluster
The Sage-Magician - Truth-Seeking and Transformation
The knower-transformer. Sage seeks clarity for its own sake; Magician bends pattern to bring change. Same territory, two stances.
MERGED. Sage and Magician were near-duplicates in feature space with mutually primary members. Presented as two lenses on shared territory.
Devil's advocate:Tension is between truth-as-freedom (Sage) and truth-as-leverage (Magician). Named, not collapsed.
When you meet this
You realize, reading a client's email for the fourth time, that the sentence you almost wrote back would have been devastatingly accurate and also wrong — technically true, practically destructive. The Sage-Magician cluster is the capacity to see the distinction, and the capacity to choose which kind of true to say. Not cleverness. Discernment.
A friend comes to you with a problem they can't see the shape of. You listen. At some point you hear the second problem — the one they're not saying — and you have to decide whether to name it. The Magician's tool is not analysis. It is the pause before speaking, in which you notice what would open and what would close.

Shadow faces›
Five traditions cut shadow differently. Here is how this cluster distorts under pressure, in each tradition's vocabulary. The cross-walk itself is the teaching.
KWML
KWML bipolar shadow
Active shadow: the Manipulator — knowledge used to move others without their consent. Passive shadow: the Denying Innocent — refusing to know what one knows, playing the naïf to escape responsibility.
Jungian
Jungian inflation / puer
The Sage complex: identifying with the archetype's knowing to the point of losing one's actual self. The 'wise one' who has lost the capacity not to know.
Tarot
Tarot tripartite
The Hermit as withdrawal that never returns. Knowledge hoarded; the lamp lit for no one. Nichols: the inverse of wisdom is not ignorance but private expertise.
Enneagram
Enneagram disintegration
The Five under stress moves to Seven — fragmenting knowledge into a scatter of interests, unable to commit what has been learned to any particular life.
